- Shift-drag a ○ to move every bed past it; a plain drag keeps the next segment's end in place.
- Drag a top on the type log to thicken or thin that zone; Shift-drag the type log to slide it.
- Drag a ◆ pick along the path to move the lateral's own pick; moving the anchor pick re-ties every bed. Right-click on the path to pick a top there, or a ◆ to anchor on it or delete it.
- Seismic loads a SEG-Y line (extracted along the well) behind the section; set where its first and last traces fall and its depth or time scale. GR fill paints the section with the type log's GR along the beds (strength in Display).
- Compare TW puts a second type well beside the first with each one's ΔGR. Version keeps several interpretations; ⋯ saves a copy and compares one as dashed beds.
- Stats (bar-chart button) gives footage, GR and ROP by zone, segment or target, zone distribution by depth with how it drilled there, crossplots, distributions and the logs that move with ROP. Hover a point to find it on the section.
- Shift-drag or Shift-wheel the GR strip to shift or stretch the lateral's GR.
- Map: wheel to zoom, drag to pan, double-click to fit; right-click to choose the surface.
- Right-click anything for its options. A segment's menu (in the Section, on its Type log bracket or its table row) can give it its own type well, hide it on the Type log, or show only it; the colored dot in the table hides or shows it too.
Methods
- Beds follow the type well's tops, offset along vertical section by Σ tan(dip) × distance.
- The type log is read back at each sample's stratigraphic depth (TVD − bed offset): that is the modeled GR. ΔGR is its RMS gap to the drilled GR.
- Continuous inclination (CINC) is corrected to the survey: the stations are hard points, and the filtered CINC shapes the path between them, shifted to pass through each station. Readings more than 1° off their trend (0.5° or 2° in the strip's menu), more than 5° off the survey or outside 0–180° are drawn as × and not used. TVD from it uses minimum curvature (SPE 79917); right-click the Inc/Azi strip → TVD from.
- Nothing is fitted automatically.
Quick-look only. These numbers come from basic, automated petrophysics: default parameters, picked tops and whatever logs each well has. Validate them against core, tests and production, and adjust Rw, m, n, cutoffs and baselines for your field before using them for any decision.

Summary by zone
Zones run from each top to the next top, or to TD. Means are depth-weighted; columns marked g use the geometric mean (resistivity, gas, perm). Hover a value for P10, P50, P90 and null count.
